Your Calling, Reinvented:
The Founder’s Journey

From Maxillofacial Surgery in Kharkiv to Architectural Innovation in Dutch Healthcare.

"Professional excellence knows no borders. Medicine is a universal language."
Yevhenii Butov

My name is Yevhenii. I am a dentist with over 15 years of experience. My career began in a small village, Lyptsi, in the Kharkiv region—just 10 kilometers from the border. It was there that I met my wife, Yana, who is also a doctor—a surgeon.

In 2012, I was entrusted with the responsibility of building a dental department in a brand-new hospital from scratch. This was my first experience in systems architecture. Later, in 2018, I opened my own private practice, where I worked as a maxillofacial surgeon and implantologist, while simultaneously co-founding a dental laboratory.

This was my life. My profession. My path of creation.

Kharkiv Region, Pre-2022

February 2022 changed everything.

At 4 a.m., we realized: the priority now was to save our family. We gathered our belongings under the sound of explosions and the roar of fighter jets, heading into complete uncertainty.

Our journey to Western Ukraine took four days. We slept in schools and churches, where strangers shared their food and shelter with us. Even upon reaching safer regions, the sense of danger never left us.

"A person we had never met before—Jonas Linders—invited our family into his home in Amsterdam. It was more than just a roof over our heads. It provided our first sense of true safety and warmth in a time of complete darkness."

Upon arriving in Amsterdam, I began working as an assistant in an orthodontic practice. Initially, I thought this would be temporary, but the reality proved to be more complex. I was faced with a system where the path to diploma recognition for doctors was convoluted and long.

My wife, a highly skilled surgeon, demonstrated incredible resilience, starting her journey in the Dutch dental sector from the ground up while simultaneously mastering the language and the rules of the system. I met many talented colleagues working as drivers or construction workers simply because they lacked a clear roadmap for professional integration.

The problem wasn't a lack of talent. The problem was the absence of the "rails" that would help professionals become useful to Dutch society more quickly.

To continue my development, I began learning Python programming. What started as a simple tool for learning medical Dutch gradually evolved into a large-scale vision. I decided to build the system that I myself had missed.

This is how MentoraMedic was born—an ecosystem that helps doctors from outside the EU navigate the registration process faster, more transparently, and with the support of a professional community.

Our mission is to give back to the Netherlands by integrating the best medical expertise into the local system, enriching it with our knowledge and dedication.

We are building the future of healthcare together. Openly. Professionally. For good.
